coolest bugs in the world

Looking over my yard last night I decided that fireflies must be the coolest bugs in the world. Around dusk, slowly little sparks begin to light greenish yellow, flying low & not too fast. It's one of the things I missed when I was in Colorado. I guess these little guys need humidity cuz they sure like living in the midwest.

Only thing, I sure hope that silly truck that comes through spraying for mosquitos doesn't kill the cool fireflies with their stupid poison.
oh, here ya go, sex in the insect world

The flash is all a mating dance.
All of us, just searching for a mate.
