December Weather in Wisconsin

Winter is here-burrrrrr! According to mr. newsman on tv, it's right around zero & headed lower. That's cold. After my 4th trip between the hotel & my car, I was thinking these cold temps should teach me to pack more effectively. I get lazy about it when I'm not flying...Back on the newscast, there's a story on about a lady who was run over by a deer in Missouri. Well you don't hear something like that everyday.
Yesterday I drove from central Iowa to Madison, Wisconsin. Winds were 50-60 mph most the way and just about 30 miles out of Madison, I came over a ridge and it was all ice. Ran about 30 mph for, well I don't know, I'm sure I'd estimate longer than reality. About 15 min out of town the roads cleared & I could loosen my grip on my camery's steering wheel. Pretty cool watching corn scraps fly across the road. Some flew, others tumbling. Some appeared as if they were alive & crawling, head over tail. Ah the thoughts who occur during solitary miles. I rented books on tape from the library. That sure makes time fly. That trip I got through two, the first was on the religious relm. Stories of when people had Jesus appear in their lives, how & what happened & how it impacted their futures. That was quite interesting. And timing is always so perfect with God. The 2nd book was "West of Dodge" or so I think. Love those westerns!!!Today I drove from Madison northeast to Jackson until Thursday night when I move to Sheboygan (1 hour north), returning Friday night to Madison. Last year at this time I was packing to head to Florida & landed there right on Christmas day. This year I'll get home just a couple days before Christmas. Nice switch. Those family & friend units need companionship at the holidays, no matter if I want to participate or not. I think maybe I need it too. Merry Seasons!

December timing

And it's almost Christmas again. The month of the year when time moves fastest. I don't think I like it. Our house is not decorated. No tree is in our living room. The daughter unit says no lights, no santa, none of any type of holiday activites. I did bake some cookies with my mother. Oatmeal & sugar. Yum.

So now I'm headed to Wisconsin & won't be back until a couple days before Santa comes. Wonder if he will find our dark house?

The wind is howling out there! Supposed to be 50-60 mph! That should do wonders for my gas mileage. I'm hooked up with books on tape & maybe I won't even notice. I've decided this traveling makes me grouchy. I am tired of going by myself. Maybe I will get a different job next year. Darn it anyway. Why can't everyone win the lottery just once?

Merry Seasons!
